NSEW - not North, South, East and West

Been contacted by Penny Fletcher from the British Science Association who asked me to tell you about this event.

NSEW is National Science & Engineering Week: 9–18 March 2012.
Join the national celebration!
National Science and Engineering week www.NSEW.org.uk  is the UK’s biggest celebration of the sciences, engineering and technology and there are so many ways you can get involved!  March might seem a while away but it is worth thinking ahead so you can make the most of all we have going on.
Free resources to run activities and events during NSEW

Check out our free downloadable activity packs, which offer some great ideas for fun and participatory activities for all ages including our popular science busking pack and range of science and engineering quizzes. We would love to see a bigger and wider range of groups than ever organising and registering their events for this year’s NSEW. We offer lots of support for organisers including our how-to-guides and marketing materials.  If you can’t organise an event this year, find one you can go along to on our online events listing, which covers the whole UK and is getting bigger by the day!
NSEW Event organisers can win cash prizes

If you are organising an event for National Science and Engineering Week consider nominating it for one of our Event Awards . The awards offer the chance to win up to £600 and we have a new category this year ‘Best Community Event’. We would love to see some new organisers in the running this year and reward science being communicated and celebrated in novel ways with new audiences.  You will need to register your event on our website to nominate it in the awards. Previous winners are featured on our website  and the closing date for nominations is 6th February 2012.

Geography is, as we know, the mother of all sciences, and as a science graduate I'm happy to pass on the good news...
