Ecolint Geography Conference Follow Up: 1 of 4

The Conference was organised by the Geography department at the International School of Geneva.

There was a keynote speech by Leo Hickman, whose book on tourism: 'The Final Call' I used when teaching 'A' level and GCSE tourism issues.

I was impressed by the Press Team, who were helping out, taking images, and writing up the event.

The venue was also impressive: the Ecumenical Centre building.

The weather was also glorious: temperatures soaring to over 30 degrees - quite a shock after the wet weather of the last month in the UK.

After an introduction and Keynote, there was a short break, and I then had a 45 minute workshop which I repeated 5 times with groups of between 20 and 35 students, so that all the delegates had the chance to take part in the workshop at some point in the day. Richard Allaway finished the day with the plenary.
The results of their efforts will be shared in a future post.

It was also good to meet Geography Jim: Jamie Williams.
His website was one of the first out there, along with Geography Pages...
